Free hashtag generator
A balanced hashtag set from your keyword — broad, mid-size and niche tags, sized per platform.
Hashtags do not work as a volume game. A set of thirty huge tags puts your post in a feed that refreshes every second. A set that mixes a few broad tags with mostly mid-size and niche ones puts it somewhere people actually browse.
This tool builds a set from your keyword across three tiers and sizes the set for the platform you pick: a fuller block for Instagram, a handful for Threads, and one or two for X where hashtags suppress reach more than they help.
How to use it
- Enter your niche keyword — one or two words, no punctuation.
- Pick the platform. Instagram gets a full block, Threads a short set, X a minimal one.
- Copy the set, then delete anything that does not describe the actual post. Irrelevant tags cost you reach.
- Keep two or three sets and rotate them. Identical tag blocks on every post look automated.
Tips that actually change results
- Search the tag before you use it. If the top posts are nothing like yours, the tag is not yours.
- Ten to fifteen relevant tags generally outperform thirty padded ones on Instagram.
- Niche tags with 10k–200k posts are the sweet spot: enough traffic to matter, little enough to rank in.
- On X, one hashtag is plenty and none is often better. Threads treats tags as topics — usually just one.

Is the hashtag generator free?
Yes. It runs in your browser with no login and no API key.
How are the hashtags chosen?
Your keyword is matched against a curated bank grouped by niche and by size tier, then combined into a set that mixes broad, mid-size and niche tags. It does not query live post counts, so search any unfamiliar tag before you commit to it.
How many hashtags should I use?
Instagram permits up to 30, but ten to fifteen relevant tags usually perform better than a padded block. Threads works best with one topical tag. On X, hashtags tend to reduce reach — use one or none.
Do hashtags still work in 2026?
They work as topic signals and as browsable surfaces, not as a reach multiplier. Treat them as categorisation, and expect most of your distribution to come from the content itself.
