Free text post image generator
A free quote card generator and text post generator for Instagram. Turn quotes or short posts into images with your name and photo. No login or watermark.
Everything renders on this page. No text and no picture is sent to a server.
Text travels well on X and Threads and badly on Instagram, because Instagram will not accept a post without an image. The fix the whole internet settled on is the text card: the post rendered as a picture, avatar and handle at the top, the words set large underneath, posted as a normal square image.
This tool builds that card. Type the text, add your display name and handle, optionally drop in a profile picture, pick a theme and a size, and download a full-resolution PNG. The text is wrapped and auto-sized so it fills the card without spilling off it, and links, @mentions and #hashtags are tinted the way a feed would tint them.
Everything renders on a canvas inside your own browser. The text is never sent to a server and the profile picture is never uploaded anywhere — close the tab and nothing of it remains.
How to use it
- Paste or type the post text. Line breaks are kept, so you can shape it the way you want it read.
- Add the display name and handle that should appear on the card. Use your own account — a card carrying someone else’s name and face is a fake screenshot, not a quote.
- Add a profile picture if you have one to hand. Without one you get a clean monogram circle instead, which looks deliberate rather than empty.
- Pick a theme (light, dim or dark), a background and a size: 1080×1080 for the Instagram feed, 1080×1350 for the taller portrait slot, 1080×1920 for a story, or card-only if you want to place it in your own layout.
- Download the PNG and post it. The caption still does the work in the feed — the image just carries the words.
Tips that actually change results
- Short text reads bigger. The card auto-sizes to fit, so every sentence you cut makes the remaining ones larger and more legible on a phone.
- Portrait (1080×1350) takes up more vertical space in the Instagram feed than a square, which means more time on screen for the same post.
- Keep the first line strong enough to work as the whole post. Many people read the card and never open the caption.
- Dark and dim cards stand out in a feed of bright photos, but light cards are easier to read at thumbnail size. Test both against your own grid.
- Repeat the text in the caption as well. Text inside an image is invisible to search, to screen readers and to anyone who turns images off.
- Do not build cards that attribute words to accounts that did not post them. It is the easiest kind of misinformation to make and the easiest to get caught making.

Is the text post image generator free?
Yes. It runs entirely in your browser with no login, no API key and no watermark, and there is no limit on how many images you make.
Can I use this as a quote card generator or post generator?
Yes. Turn your own quotes, tips, announcements or short text posts into downloadable PNG images. Add your name, handle and optional profile photo, then choose a theme and size for an Instagram feed post or story.
Is my profile picture uploaded anywhere?
No. The image you pick is read locally by your browser and drawn straight onto a canvas. No text and no picture from this page is sent to a server, which is also why the tool works with the network disconnected.
What size should the image be for Instagram?
Square 1080×1080 is the safe default for the feed. Portrait 1080×1350 occupies more of the screen and usually holds attention longer. Stories are 1080×1920. All three are offered here and all export at full resolution.
Why do I need an image to post text on Instagram?
The Instagram API only publishes posts that carry media, so a caption on its own cannot be published. Rendering the text as an image is how text-first accounts post on Instagram at all — SocialAgent does the same thing automatically for text drafts headed to Instagram.
Can I use this to make a fake tweet?
Please do not. The tool exists so you can re-post your own writing as an image. Putting somebody else’s name and photo on words they never wrote is fabrication, it spreads fast, and it is trivially disproved by looking for the original post.
Can I schedule the image I made?
Yes. Download it, start a free SocialAgent workspace and attach it to a post for Instagram, Threads or X — or let SocialAgent generate the card for you whenever a text draft is scheduled for Instagram.
